Results were much better on Day 2 of the state basketball tournament for metro area teams. Local teams went 7-2. Here are the results, with notes (these are all boys games).

CLASS 2A

• No. 4 Bosque School 65, No. 5 Coronado 49

CLASS 3A

• No. 1 Hope Christian 72, No. 8 Bloomfield 48
• No. 2 Sandia Prep 52, No. 7 Pojoaque 33 -- Sundevils big man Kody Salcido posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

CLASS 4A

• No. 1 Roswell 42, No. 9 St. Pius X 27
• No. 4 Volcano Vista 51, No. 12 Capital 41
• No. 3 Albuquerque Academy 56, No. 6 Los Alamos 47 -- The Chargers Dylan Gordon had the most impressive stat line, scoring 20 and complementing that with five rebounds and four assists.

CLASS 5A

• No. 1 Eldorado 79, No. 8 Hobbs 68 -- Christian Sacoman's double-double was the biggest of the day: 23 points, 12 rebounds.
• No. 3 Valley 89, No. 6 Clovis 67 -- Mike Maya was unstoppable, dumping in 36 points for the Vikings. He also ingnited a key second quarter run with defense.
• No. 5 La Cueva 78, No. 4 Manzano 55
