NBA STAR RICHARD JEFFERSON

For the second day in a row The Team welcomed an NBA star into The Locker Room with Bob Brown. This time it was Richard Jefferson, who was recently traded to the San Antonio Spurs. NBA ALL-STAR DANNY GRANGER

Former Lobo standout Danny Granger visited The Locker Room with Bob Brown today and talkes about a variety of topics.

Granger told Bob about his upcoming basketball camp, discussed what the Pacers might need in tomorrow's NBA Draft and gave listeners an update about the Batcave.

FORMER LOBO FOOTBALL COACH ROCKY LONG

He might be in San Diego now, but former UNM football coach Rocky Long hasn't changed.

Long came into The Locker Room with Bob Brown and talked about his future as the San Diego State Aztecs defensive coodinator and his past at New Mexico.

He's still blunt, thoughtful in his responses and honest. He also likes to downplay his team.

Said Long of is current team: "I don't think we're very good, but we're getting better."

Long also noted that, because of a shortage of defensive backs, the Aztecs might not change to his trademark 3-3-5 defense until the 2010 season. He also talked briefly about UNM's visit to San Diego this season.

"I'm trying not to think about that one," Long said. "That'll be a hard day for me."

DODGERS GM NED COLLETTI

Los Angeles Dodgers GM Ned Colletti briefly stopped by The Locker Room with Bob Brown. Colletti discussed developing young players and the possibility of Manny Ramirez playing for the Isotopes just before returning from his suspension.

BOXER JOHNNY TAPIA

Johnny Tapia had a candid and entertaining talk with The Team's Bob Brown in The Locker Room on Thursday.

The five-time world champion boxer with the troubled past talked about his jail sentence, drug rehabilitation and boxing future (you guessed it, he wants to fight again.

Tapia also talked about a movie deal.

"No I'm not scared. Most of my friends are in there, Bob."

On going to rehab again ...

"The difference is I want it this time. Everytime I had to go to rehab, I had to do it for other people."

UNM BASKETBALL COACH STEVE ALFORD

The Team's Bob Brown chatted with Lobos coach Steve Alford earlier this week.

Alford stopped by The Locker Room and talked to Bob about his disappointment with the NCAA Tournament selection process, early prospects for next season and the lack of respect the Mountain West Conference receives nationally.

On the Lobos' conference title ...

"I go into every year trying to win championships and that league championship, regardless of whether the NCAA committee and others are going to put an emphasis on it, we still put an emphasis on it. We got a nice, good looking trophy that's sitting in our office right now that says league champs."

On perception of the MWC ...

"The Mountain West Conference does not get respect nationally. That's a fact. ... We've got to try to change that."
