History made on Sunday as Cowboys defeat Ravens 27-17

History was made on three different fronts for the Cowboys on Sunday with their 27-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

It was the first time in team history that the Cowboys beat the Ravens, ending an odd streak that dates back the Baltimore’s inception in 1996.

The win also extended the Cowboy’s winning streak to a team-best nine games, while extending  Dallas’ league best record to 9-1.

Lost in all of the excitement, and lost on the person who set the record, place kicker Dan Bailey set the organization’s all-time record for career field goals with 163.

Bailey, already the NFL’s all-time leader for field goal accuracy, passed Rafael Septien with his second half field goal on Sunday.

It was a lesser-know record setting feat. So much so, than Bailey himself was unaware of his accomplishment.

According to ESPN Dallas reporter Todd Archer, Bailey was given a ball at the end of the game despite the fact he was unaware of his record.

“The main thing is it’s just a privilege to play for this organization so when you can stick around long enough to get up there with names like Septien and those guys, it’s just a big honor,” Bailey said. “Yeah, I’m happy with it for sure.”

Bailey will look to extend his record when the Cowboys host the Redskins on Thanksgiving. Be sure to catch all the action live and in FM stereo on ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM.
