For the second consecutive season, senior outfielder Jared Mang has been named to the 2019 Preseason All-Mountain West Team. Mang earned the honors as a junior after posting a monster sophomore season with a .373 batting average, with nine home runs, 17 doubles, 63 runs scored, and 62 runs batted in.
Injuries limited Mang to just 29 games last season in what turned out to be a dreadful year across the board for the Lobos.
2019 appears as though it might be another struggle for head coach Ray Birmingham, as the Lobos have been selected to finish second-to-last in the Mountain West according to a coaches poll released by the MW.
The Lobos kick off the 2019 season this Friday afternoon against Oregon State in the Surprise Tournament in Surprise, Arizona.
