According to Yahoo Sports Pete Thamel, the University of New Mexico’s next head coach will be Danny Gonzales.
A former walk-on at UNM who would go on to letter in three seasons as a Lobo, Gonzales joins UNM after a successful stint as the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Arizona State.
Gonzales has a tough task of rebuilding the program of his alma matter that is coming off a two-win season under the now-departed Bob Davie.
