Cowboys Place Franchise Tag on Dak Prescott

According to ESPN’s Adam Shefter, the Cowboys have placed the exclusive franchise tag on Dak Prescott after failing to come to an agreement on a long-term deal this offseason. The team had until 10:59 am on Monday before Prescott would officially hit the open market with the opportunity to discuss terms with another team.

Placing the tag on Prescott ensures he will stay with the team as the two sides continue to negotiate a long-term deal for the star QB.

Prescott is projected to make around $31 million this season under the franchise tag unless the Cowboys and Prescott can reach a deal before the July 15th deadline.
