No. 1 Cleveland/No. 2 La Cueva for 6A Crown

The NMAA Class 6A football game is set for Saturday, November 26 as No. 1 seed Cleveland will face off against No. 2 La Cueva at 1 p.m. at Wilson Stadium.

It’s a matchup that has been anticipated for quite some time since the Storm defeated the Bears 33-29 on August 26 at Wilson Stadium.

Cleveland is 10-2 while La Cueva is 11-1 with the lone loss coming to the Storm.

Cleveland defeated No. 5 seed Volcano Vista 47-24 Friday, November 18 at Nusenda Community Stadium in a game the Storm took over in the second half.

La Cueva is coming off a tight 42-35 victory over host Centennial Saturday, November 19 at the Field of Dreams in Las Cruces.

Cleveland rode the shoulders of senior running Josh Perry.

Perry rushed for 275 yards and reached the end zone five times on 27 carries.

La Cueva was paced by senior running back Gabriel Bui, who rushed for 208 yards and 4 touchdowns.
