On Wednesday, May 22 the New Mexico Broadcasters Association announced their 2024 award winners. KQTM-FM, better known as ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM received six awards from the association for their work throughout the year. In earning those six awards, 101.7 FM The TEAM was also named the 2024 Radio Station of the Year for the Metro Market.
Every year, member stations of the NMBA from around the state are recognized for their efforts in broadcasting excellence. Multiple categories are recognized each time, recognizing exceptional news coverage, entertainment, production, digital media, and creativity across four radio markets and television.
This year, the winners were voted upon by broadcasting professionals from Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Idaho, and Vermont. Submissions from 101.7 FM The TEAM received awards in six different categories, which led all stations in the Metro Market. Having received the most awards, 101.7 FM The TEAM was named the 2024 Radio Station of the Year.
The award marks the 5th time that KQTM has been named Radio Station of the Year, having previously won that honor in 2009, 2014, 2017, and 2020.
