The Broncos have been active this free-agent period with the addition of defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, cornerback A.J. Bouye, and offensive lineman Graham Glasnow.
In somewhat of a surprising move, the team signed running back Melvin Gordon to a two-year, $16-million deal on Friday. Gordon joins Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman.
With the Broncos ranking 15th in rushing yards as a team in 2019, adding a veteran running back like Gordon was not a must-need move by the GM John Elway and the Denver front office. Perhaps the team will look to trade Freeman to make room for Gordon.
Gordon rushed for 4240 yards and 36 touchdowns on 1059 carries for the Chargers between 2015 and 2019.
In a related move earlier this week, the Chargers signed former Denver cornerback standout Chris Harris to a two-year, $17-million deal.
