Jon ‘Bones’ Jones arrested for DUI early Thursday

Jon “Bones” Jones was arrested for DUI just before 1 am on Thursday, March 26th, in downtown Albuquerque.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Albuquerque Police Department, Jones was found in his Black Jeep near 3rd and Central. The arresting officer found a half-empty bottle or Recuerdo 470ml behind the passenger seat of the car, a “green leafy substance on his shirt and pants, consistent of marijuana,” and a black Glock 44 handgun.

The arresting officer responded to the area after hearing a gunshot. According to the complaint, the officer found a spent shell casing near the vehicle. Both the gun and the shell casing were tagged into APD evidence.

Jones is facing aggravated DUI charges, possession of an open container, and negligent use of a deadly weapon.

“As part of the investigation into this incident, our Gun Violence Reduction Unit will test the firearm and bullet casing to determine whether the gun has been used in any crimes. Reducing gun violence in Albuquerque is our top priority.”

Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said.
