Elijah Brown likely to miss exhibition game against Western New Mexico

The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will likely kick off the exhibition season on Wednesday with out star guard Elijah Brown.

According to head coach Craig Neal, Brown is still dealing with a lingering hamstring injury that he suffered at at the end of last season.

“He played the last four games of the year with it, and then he really didn’t have a break because he was preparing for the draft and doing some things with that,” said Neal.

“Then he went to Adidas Nations, so he hasn’t really had time off to get it well. I just don’t want it lingering. That’s why we’ve given him this time off.”

The Lobos host Western New Mexico at Wise Pies Arena, AKA the Pit on Wednesday at 7 PM.
