Luis Gonzalez earns MWC player of the week honors

Center fielder Luis Gonzalez earned Mountain West Conference player of the week honors after batting .727 against No.23 Dallas Baptist over the weekend.

Gonzalez went 8-for-11 in the three-game series, with one home run, two doubles, and three runs scored. A Golden Spikes Award preseason watch candidate for the top baseball player in the nation, Gonzalez posted an impressive .813 over the course of the three games.

The junior from Tucson, Arizona is the second Lobo to win MWC player of the week honors in the young season, joining first baseman Jack Zoellner, who won the award to kick off the 2017 campaign.
