Kenley Jansen out with irregular heartbeat

According to ESPN’s Buster Onley, Los Angeles Dodgers star closer Kenley Jansen will miss a month of action due to an irregular heartbeat. The All-Star closer was taken to the hospital before Thursday’s game against the Rockies after feeling unwell in the team hotel.

Jansen takes medicine for his heart condition and underwent a procedure in 2012 to address an abnormal heart rhythm. The 30-year-old native of Curacao is tied for the NL lead with 32 saves, with a 2.15 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 54.1 Innings of work.

Manager Dave Roberts has not officially named a replacement at closer for the Dodgers. However, Scott Alexander pitched the ninth inning against Colorado last night.
