ADP issues arrest warrant for man accused of killing UNM Baseball Player Jackson Weller

The Albuquerque Police Department has identified a suspect accused of the murder of UNM baseball player Jackson Weller on the early morning hours of May 4th outside a Nob Hill bar.

According to numerous media outlets, including KOAT.com & KRQE.com, APD has issued an arrest warrant for Darian Rashaud Bashir, a 23-year-old man with an extensive criminal past who was recently released from jail.

Per the arrest warrant, Jackson reportedly was involved with a minor fistfight at the scene with multiple individuals before being shot. According to KRQE.com, police say surveillance video from the scene shows a man approach Jackson outside the bar and pull out what appears to be a gun from his waist. Jackson was shot in the chest by the individual, who then fled the scene in a nearby car.

APD is actively searching for Bashir, who has been charged with an open count of murder.
