According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL has suspended Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn two games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Quinn reportedly failed a test due to the medicine probenecid, which he uses to help prevent seizures.
Quinn’s agent Sean Kiernan posted a statement on Quinn’s behalf on Twitter stating their displeasure for the two-game suspension based on the fact that he is required to take Probenecid to mitigate his condition.
According to the statement by Kiernan, Quinn was suspended two games because Probenecid is often used as a masking agent for steroids.
In addition to the two-game suspension, Quinn suffered a broken hand in training camp and has been sidelined for the past week. The eight-year veteran signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Cowboys after seven seasons with the Rams and one year with the Dolphins.
