According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the XFL has suspended operations, and all employees have been laid off.
XFL COO Jeffrey Pollock notified employees of their termination via a short, ten-minute conference call. The XFL relaunched in spring 2020 to somewhat mixed reviews, with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the league to shorten its inaugural season.
Per Yates, the league has no plans to resume operations in 2021.
