Saquan Singleton signs NLI to play with Lobos in 2020-21

The University of New Mexico Lobos formally announced the signing of junior college transfer Saquan Singleton on Wednesday. Singleton announced his intentions via social media earlier this month and confirmed his plans today by signing his National Letter of Intent today.

Singleton is a talented point guard who was named to the 2020 All-Region VI Men’s Basketball Second Team. Singleton averaged 11.8 points at Hutchinson Community College last season, with a team-high 7.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

“Saquan separated himself from all of the other prospects we were looking at for his position this spring with his incredible character and commitment to team success,” said head coach Paul Weir via a release from the school.

“He was our number one choice for this spring class and I am glad we were his number one as well.”

Singleton will fill a need for the Lobos with the departure of guard JJ Caldwell via the transfer portal.
