Saquan Singleton is out indefinitely due to a heart abnormality

University of New Mexico senior guard Saquan Singleton is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a heart abnormality discovered when returning from an illness, according to a release from the school on Monday morning.

Per the release, UNM’s medical staff will continue to monitor Singleton’s status and will determine when it is safe for the 6-6 Bronx, New York, native to return to the court.

Singleton’s absence is a massive blow for the Lobos, as Singleton was second on the team in scoring last year (8.0) and likely a focal point of the offense in 2021-22.
