Men’s Basketball Extends Historic Home Streak With Pair of Statement Wins
The Pit remained a fortress as New Mexico men’s basketball picked up two more home victories, pushing its home winning streak to 23 games—third-longest in program history and one of the longest active streaks in the nation.
The week began Wednesday night with an 83–74 win over Fresno State, as the Lobos (15–4, 6–2 MW) used defensive pressure and balanced scoring to control most of the contest. After trading baskets early, UNM ripped off a 14–0 run midway through the first half to seize control, eventually taking a 36–23 lead into halftime. Fresno State made multiple pushes in the second half, trimming the margin to single digits late, but New Mexico closed the door down the stretch.

Jake Hall led the Lobos with 16 points, extending his streak of double-figure games to five. Uriah Tenette matched a career-high with 15 points and added a career-best four steals, while Tomislav Buljan recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Deyton Albury chipped in 11 points, as UNM forced 24 turnovers and scored 29 points off Bulldog miscues.
Saturday night brought an even tougher test, as Nevada came into The Pit riding momentum of its own. After falling behind by nine early in the second half, the Lobos stormed back for an 80–73 victory, their fifth straight win over the Wolf Pack. Hall was electric from beyond the arc, pouring in 19 points on five three-pointers to break Kendall Williams’ long-standing freshman record with his 59th triple of the season.
Buljan added his ninth double-double of the year with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, while Tenette scored 13 and JT Rock provided 11 points off the bench. New Mexico erased Nevada’s early second-half surge with an 8–0 run, then sealed the win with clutch shooting and rebounding in the final minutes.
